My earliest art-making dates back to when I could draw but not write; instead, my grandmother penned the stories to my imaginative illustrations.
My parents facilitated my earliest "business" transactions at 8 years old. I grew up to be something of a young hustler in the arts: competitions, fundraisers, clubs and magazines, theatrical stage painting, commercials, movies and more.
All the while, I had an unstable childhood littered with trauma, violence and addiction. Creativity and imagination showed me a powerful escape, and later on, a form of healing.
I am actively creating art that helps me understand my emotions, memories, and ancestry. I share poetry and other musings on the Substack below:
